The C1U can plug directly on to your computer USB. However, the C1 doesn't plug directly in. You will need a XML cable and a USB audio interace with Phantom Power.

Note the attached image. The audio interface is the small box with red and blue lights. This one is the M-Audio I believe.

No it does not. You will need an XML cord and USB audio interface like the M-Audio Fast Track Pro or Navy SMPS-USB. Just make sure it has Phantom Power. Phantom power is a power supply for the microphone or else it won't power up.

This Mic requires a PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY. They're about $30 and you need 2 cables. One from Mic to Power Supply & one from Power Supply to input device where the mic signal is going to(karaoke player, etc).

Hi, we just buyed this product but we cannot make it work, do this microphone need a special cable to turn it on?

This is a fantastic mic but if you were hoping to just buy this and start podcasting today then you are mistaken. You also need a phantom power source and two different mic cords. The actual mic is very high quality, definitely worth the cost.

Great mic great quaity

I've tried many different mics in this price range and at this price range the C1 is the best bang for the buck. I would probably think the C1 is somewhere around $80 if I didn't see the price first. Its built quality is professional and feels high-end. Recording is crisp & ultra clear. This C1 is better then the C3 which I had volume issues with. The C1 doesn't require much power to power up the volume. Volume on the C1 set at 30% is same as the C3 set at about 70%. C1 for the winner!

No other Mic in its price range beats this

The Mic itself is good however the product information is misleading _ ask for a USB mic it doesn't work. I have to return it

Mis leading

This microphone is not as advertised. I'm not sure if it's a good microphone and the reason is because I can't even use it. It does not come with a usb cord that connect to the computer and requires some sort of phantom power. In the description it says that it can be directly plugged into the computer with a cable that comes with it, but as other people have note, it does not come with any cable. So I need to return it.
